Information Technology Director

Hawaii Foodservice Alliance is seeking an Information Technology Director to join our team in Honolulu, Hawaii. The Information Technology Director is responsible for creating IT policy and strategy, maintaining the accessibility, functionality, and security of all computer resources, implementing infrastructure and leveraging technology to provide leadership and technical advice within the organization. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal abilities to communicate information concepts, explain technology processes in detail, and facilitate the interaction of IT professionals, vendors, and staff.


  • Develop the organization’s IT vision into actionable goals.
  • Formulates and implements business continuity, disaster recovery and high availability plans across the organization infrastructure, including SQL server.
  • Implements and oversees advanced multi-layered approach to organizational IT Security.
  • Able to identify and eliminate security vulnerabilities and infrastructure instability.
    Collaborates in developing IT policies cross departmentally.
  • Communicates system-disrupting events, remediation and future prevention.
  • Oversees the IT Service execution team, providing an escalation point and leading by example in developing script-streamlined processes.
  • Reduces financial waste by way of annually evaluating infrastructure design, provisioning and 3rd party service value evaluations.
  • Grows Strategic Vendor Partner relationships filling gaps in IT specializations.
  • Prioritizes daily tasks with short and long-term project vision in an efficient manner.
  • Works in the technical details throughout an enterprise network, cloud, and security infrastructure.
  • Able to recommend and oversee implementation new technology solutions reviewing Risk, Total Cost of Ownership and Return on Investment.
  • Comfortable with Enterprise-grade network, Cloud, and Security technologies.
  • Able to lead and grow a team of IT professionals in Hawaii.
  • Management Skills – this role is specifically going to be pushing for changes, balancing moving things forward with the risk of causing disruption.
  • Leadership Skills – We are a culture of servant leaders, the right fit will not be above taking on day-to-day duties on occasion.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science required or related field.
  • At least 8 years of experience managing an IT department.Dedicated team player.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Solid ability in both written and verbal communication.
  • Able to develop ideas and processes and clearly express them.
  • High degree of independent judgment.
  • Able to solve complex problems.
