Jamba Hawaii adds ‘bursting boba’ to menu
Jamba locations across Hawaii will be adding ‘bursting boba’ (also known as ‘popping boba‘) to its menu. The popular bubble tea ingredient will add an extra bit of “fruit punch” to the company’s smoothies and bowls.
Jamba Hawaii will introduce the new menu item will on New Year’s Day as a “boost” that can be added to any drink or bowl. In addition, from January 1 through March 28, Jamba Hawaii will offer three special blends that feature the new ingredient. They are:
- Lava Flow Smoothie with Bursting Boba Boost: A piña colada smoothie with strawberry and apple coulis and strawberry bursting boba. This drink was a special menu item in the past that was so beloved that JAMBA HAWAII has brought it back and added bursting boba!
- Fire Flow Smoothie with Bursting Boba Boost: A piña colada smoothie with mango and orange coulis and orange bursting boba — a truly tropical taste!
- Lava Flow Bowl with Bursting Boba Boost: This Jamba Energy Bowl™ is an edible version of the Lava Flow smoothie, erupting with strawberry and orange bursting boba.
Bursting boba is made from real strawberry and orange juice flavors, using a spherification process that creates a natural casing that bursts right in your mouth.
“This Jamba Hawaii-only initiative came about by customer demand,” said Jamba Hawaii vice president Donna Yano. “Being able to add bursting boba to our smoothies and bowls adds on a whole new level of customization for customers by adding exciting flavors and textures to the Jamba experience.
“It really allows customers to take their favorite Jamba smoothie and bowls to a whole new level of taste sensation,” she added.
The smoothie and healthy snack shop is positioning 2021 as its year of innovation, with even more fun menu items to come. Yano hints that tapioca boba fans won’t be disappointed.
In fact, past innovations created at Jamba Juice locations in Hawaii include the famous açaà bowl that is now part of Jamba’s national menu.
